Our workstations utilize femtosecond laser micromachining technology, which uses ultrashort laser pulses to achieve precise material processing with minimal heat impact. Here’s a breakdown of the key technologies involved:
- Femtosecond Laser Source: All of our laser sources are designed, developed, and built in-house. These lasers generate ultrashort pulses lasting only a few quadrillionths of a second (femtoseconds). Ultrashort pulses enable cold ablation, where material is removed without significant thermal effects, preventing unwanted melting or damage.
- Beam Scanning & Control: All of our systems incorporate beam scanning capabilities that allow for highly precise and adaptable machining. This can include galvanometer-based scanning for rapid beam movement or programmable optical elements for beam shaping.
- Integrated vision: Each system includes a complete vision package with sophisticated automation routines including autofocus, feature recognition, and part rotation.
- Advanced System Controls: From laser to sample positioning, beam scanning, and lighting, all system elements are centrally controlled. The software features intuitive direct feature design, CAD file import, supports multiple layers, vision system integration, and provides an interface for connectivity to interact with external equipment and events.
Solafab - Desktop Entry-Level Femtosecond Machining System

Solafab is a feature-rich compact femtosecond laser micromachining system designed for precision and efficiency. Despite its small footprint, it boasts advanced controls typically found in larger systems, offering a work area of up to 150 mm and the capability to machine samples up to 50 μm thick—all at a significantly lower price point.
Solafab II

Solafab II enhances the original Solafab with a significantly more powerful laser, an expanded work area, faster material removal rates, and advanced beam scanning capabilities. Designed to handle materials up to 1 mm thick, it seamlessly supports applications ranging from research and development to mid-volume production.
